Happy New Year 'Nutz! Question for ya, if you've got a sec. If a fella was to have a Webley No.1 R.I.C. in .450CF, what would you use for powder in your reloads? You would be using trimmed down Webley 455 MkII cases (0.655") and .45 calibre 225 grain lead projectiles. Currently 3.8 grains of Unique fills the case to about half and once the bullet is in place there is not a lot of air space left. Is that okay to continue using? Should a fella use 777 or just go with the original Black Powder. If you would use other powder(s) than Unique what amount would you use? Thanks for your input.

I have a Belgian copy of a RIC and am interested in loads as well. I have some 255gr. bullets I would like to load in this to, I'm just not sure where to start. Online info for this cartridge seems very scarce.
HOWDY. I loaded some 777 3F into 45 colt case , WOW what a rhino roller load. IF you must use black powder sub. try american pionner it is under powdered. 777 is hotter by 15 percent over black. RESEARCH it.

Unique is working, fairly accurate and quite snappy outta that little shell. I was just wondering about the combustion gap (if it was enough) and/or if I should look to something more "period" for the little fella. I do load other cartridges in BP so that is not a problem. The question is; should I do the same (BP or Sub) with this round or keep things a little cleaner with the Unique? It works, yes. Is Unique the best for the antique, that is the question. If I don't break it in the 20 or 30 years that I may own it before someone else takes over, is that the best I could do? Or is there better care I can provide? Just askin'.
