Looking for suggestion what to expect if I am selling my unissued 2008 Izh import non franken pinned (a rod welded to the follower arm) 1953 Tula with golden bayonet?

400 seems reasonable but you might have a hard time selling it for that. The SKS market is quite weak. Some collectors will pay a premium for that pinning method.

How fast do you want to sell? At $300 it would likely sell fairly fast, at $400 you might be waiting a while. Hard to say, might be the missing piece in someone's collection. There's a very lightly refurbed '53 on the EE that hasn't moved at $250, but it's only been there a couple weeks.

Prices seem to be regional. I just purchased a beautiful, non-refurb, unfired, chrome bore, Russian SKS in a laminated stock with the neat little pin attached to the magazine follower (non frankenpinned) for $250. shipped. It has a blued bayonet and I was told that it is an indicator that it was a refurb, but all the numbers match and there was no refurb stamp anywhere. I don't know if it matters, but it was 1950 dated.

I hate to say it but your 1950 is not chrome lined, it is a referb thus it has been fired and has a replacement stock.
One must be careful when it comes to claims of unissued, unfired, and nonreferbished.

As for price on the OPs 53 Tula. .....if it is very nice and no refurbished you might see 270-300$ with full kit. Even that is generous. Its not a 53 Izzy, or for that matter anything rare. The market is soft.

Bayonets were only blued during refurbishment. Laminate stocks were only used after 1955. Bores were chromed starting in 1951. Most refurbishment depots didn't apply a mark to the cover. Buyer beware.

I'm thinking more $200.00 shipped.

I take it you don't know much about the SKS.

Guns are only worth what people are willing to pay. I had no problems paying $250 for a "super grade" SKS from cabelas because I picked it out in store and its beautiful. Personally I would never pay more than that for any SKS but that's just me. Really its a free market so as long as you do your research and represent it properly you can charge anything you want and see what happens.

And there are plenty of Collectors who would easily pay $400 for a non refurb 53 Izhevsk. There are probably be a few that would pay more for the right one. Take lots of detailed pics and post it in the EE. Wait till into the new year to post it though, after letting people's bank accounts recover after the holiday season. That is when they will pay more. Not right now.

Hey, I'd pay $600 for an unrefurb '49...but that's apples to oranges. If I was in the market for a '53, and for sure it's unrefurb, I'd do $325 shipped tops. But that's if it's museum quality, not a scratch, dent or scuff on it.

You won't be buying any non-refurbished 1953 Izhevsk or 'light refurb' 1949s that's for sure.

Don't sell it. You will regret it in a few years. The ones that came in with the hex bar welded to the follower will not be seen again. It has an unmolested magazine that isn't spot welded or riveted.
The money you get for it will be spent quickly. The quality of firearm you are giving up won't be available to buy at the $300-400 price range in 5 years. Unless you were trading it even for a Garand I'd hold on to it. They are plentiful now but the supply train will dry up eventually.
Now if I could just find where I misplaced my foil hat.....

Thank you gentlemen for all the input.

The 53 Tula is something I will never shoot was just wondering if its worth selling.

Quinnjoblow made a very good point and the money get from the sale will eventually get spend on something else never mind its not very much to start with so will put it back in the safe and hold on to it until may be the day I want to get rid of it.

Thanks again and Merry Christmas to everybody!
