Hi guys,

I have a '46 Russian Tokarev refurb that's pretty beat up, I have noticed that some people seem to have tracked down unissued Russian post war models... Does anyone know if there's a source for unissued Russians, or has that ship already sailed?

I know there are unissued Polish ones going around right now, but I like the GI-style slide serrations on the post war Russian models.

Thanks!

I think the Russian pretty much issued everything, they didnt have the best war stock piles. Even post war pistol are still refurb.

Looks like packing grease residue - they've been in storage for 50 years.
But I will be going to Wolverine within the week and will check it out.

The cosmoline was removed at some point and probably put through a steam washer, lightly reoiled, but not enough for the amount of storage time. I believe this is why most of the mags. are mismatched. Most of the new Polish ones have a slight patina except where they contacted the padded crate. Some light rubbing with a non-abrasive product like Never-Dull removes 95% of the patina and brings it back to almost perfect.

Thanks for the info guys, know this thread is probably dead by now but I did end up getting one of the Polish TT-33s...

Still looking for a clean post war Russian though for the GI style serrations!!

I placed an order a little while ago with my local gun store for an unissued Russian for less then people are charging for the Polish ones. Don't know where he's getting them from, but I jumped all over that deal.
