Unissued Yugo 48 Mauser

I saw some very lovely Mausers at the gun show last week and I haven't been abale to get them out of my mind. So the questions begs: where do I go to look for a military mauser that offers the craftsmanship you refer too above. I prefer quality firearms but I don't know anything about these rifles at all except I think I just fell in love with them last week.

Frankly I would start with South American mausers (usually small ring) 7X57 mausers. Then I would look to large ring mausers in 8X57 or 7.65 Argentinian mauser actions not the yugo internediate actions. I'm going by memory here but I think the action screws should be 7 7/8" centre on centre.

Did I remember it right? Sorry lapse of memory.

To be fair I feel the need to quantify my opinion.

I'm sure you don't own these rifles anymore for a reason Claven. Much like any other rifleman that knows quality when he see's it. Come on out and tell us what you really think.

Actually, if you look at the date I posted that, you'll understand if things have changed. I now have a M48 and M24/47 again. True, some mausers are better made, but some of the Yugo mausers are very acceptable. The ones I have now are, anyway.
