universal carrier

The Canadian War Museum. If you're in Ottawa, there's also a mostly restored Universal Bren Carrier sitting right in front of the Cartier Drill Hall next door to the City Hall, downtown. It's on DND property that's an heritage building, and accessible to the public.

I know there's one here in Windsor as well but im looking more or less to copy the armor/chassis completely.

I'd suggest to visit the War Museum then, bring camera, notebook and calipers. Another possible place would be the EME museum in Borden, I remember them having a pretty dedicated group of restoration nuts. :)

.
You do not have to make a long trip to Ottawa. The Canadian Military Heritage Museum of Brant County in Brantford, Ontario, has a nice one along with hundreds of interesting items.

Still plenty of hulls out there. Pay the money....you'll be much much further ahead. I picked up 3 spare hulls for $1300 a couple summers ago for spare parts and even got a good engine/transmission out of the deal. The upper armour will, of course, be missing, but some of the guys actually have CAD programs to have them lazer cut for a reasonable cost. Rivetting it all together is another story, and will take a source of heat, a heavy duty air hammer, and a friend to hold the other side. I have riveted a few of them now, and the last one was done in less than 2 days.

Maple Leaf Up is your best source of info, along with contact for those around you who have carriers. They have loosened up the applications recently. Make sure you sign under your real name....they try to keep the scammers off the website by insisting on that.

I have been trying to find a hull for a while to no avail I know it would be my best option for getting the suspension parts
