Universal hunting language!!!

Hollywood Hunter:

This is the guy you meet on a backroad that on the previous day stopped in some where like Cabelas and purchased everything he could find off the top shelf, underwear to hat it's all new and name brand. This fellow has bought every gadget he saw and the store "expert" told him was needed and the best. Not a hair is out of place while he sips at the $6.00 designer coffee he bought that morning along with a box of doughnuts for lunch. A new Weatherby MKV with the a rang finding scope is lying on the seat of his brand spanking new pick-up sporting Pirelli tires that has never left the pavement, and obviously isn't going to get dirty today, neither the pick-up or the driver. Has never hunted or fired a shot in his life.

Great thread, someone mentioned "Tattoo" as being kicked by a "not quite dead" deer. Has anyone actually been kicked by one?

Yes, several times!! Got it once hard enough to require stitches.

Best I have ever seen was a close friend of mine shot a nice buck in the head from an old road, we let him run out to drag it back himself. He arrived at the deer with his knife to cut the throat to bleed out better. However, as he straddled the deer, it woke up and was trying to stand!! Turns out he hit the base of an antler and knocked it out!! Well, I have never laughed so hard in all my life. Here he was, knife in one hand, deer antler in the other, legs around the deer, wrestling it for dear life lol. He got the deer though! First and only time I watched someone kill a deer with just a knife lol

Probably because of my Germanic heritage, and because I have hunted a few times in Germany, I really like the universal greeting given to hunters on all occasions in Germany and Austria - Waidmannsheil! It means "a hunters salute", "good hunting" and "congratulations" all in one. A Waidmann in ancient German is a "meadow man" or forest ranger. Boomer, I like "Kugelschlag" too, didn't know that one!
