I was just poking theough some of the "stuff" my father gave me a few years ago. Amongst the various cartridges there are what appear to be 5 full stripper clips (although they are not like the .556 or .762 X 39 stripper clips that I have seen).
The "clips" are black painted steel, each hold 5 rounds and envelope the lower 20% of the brass. There are 4 holes (about 1/4" dia.) along the bottom and along each side of the "clip", and there are 2 small stamped dimples on each lower edge. The holes at one end of the "clip" are slotted out to the end of the "clip". They are stamped "IV S" or "IV B"
The cartridges are rimmed and the headstamps read:
1942 DI VII Z on the plain silver bullet ones
1942 DC G IV Z on the white tipped silver bullet
1943 DI Z on the red tipped copper bullets
25 rounds in 5 "clips" total.
Any ideas about what this stuff is?
