Unknown Remington 870

Hello everyone,

My friend inherited this Remington 870 and we are trying to find more information on the date of manufacture etc. The barrel has double A stamp which has been the most puzzling, additionally the metal finish looks odd compared to most older 870s I have seen. Any information would be much appreciated.

Did u check remingtons website for serial number manufacture date?
It may have gone in for repair and been restamped at some point?
Receiver may have been sanded down but kinda hard to tell.

First A = March
Second A = 1954, 1980, or 2006.

You're going to have to guess on the year.

It may not even be the original barrel, so there's that too.

It is made before 1968 because of the
Gun Control Act of 1968 after 1968 all receivers had to have a serial number.
