Unknown variant of the Sks? . . .

I think this is referring to the AVS36 which was a precursor to the svt40 - there is a vid of someone over in Europe or Asia shooting a burst from one, very interesting firearm.

Although I have NEVER seen so much as one picture of the WWII era SKS 45's I can't be sure what they even look like, but I also have been scouring the forums. The Yugo SKS with the selector was mainly a commercial venture from what I understand.

If there was never a full auto version of the SKS adopted by any armed forces, there must be a good reason for it.

I'd say the fixed ten round magazine would have had something to do with it, never mind the buttstock being below the barrel axis contributing to muzzle rise and uncontrollability.

Had a 59/66, if you wanted a full auto sks, this would be the one to try it on - weight is more like an M1 Garand, muzzle heavy, more steel over the muzzle area, heavy duty stock, generally a brick ####house of a battle rifle. Everything I have heard so far about these illicit conversions indicates the firing rate is way too high to be practical. (not that I would ever try unless it was legal *not gonna happen any time soon* :( ).

What about this unknown variant

that rifle is a field conversion done in Yugoslavia during the 90s war. Many field built guns were found These guns take a special magazine thet was made for the gun It has a tab that locks up on the standard magazine release. These guns were brought in as a small lot most had the metal selector marking plates removed. The trigger groups were all swapped out with standard trigger groups. I got one and later got the original magazine They are a very rare gun. These as I said were a field shop modification not a factory gun. Much like all the snipers that showed up here in the US. I have some photos of mine and the magazine but someone will have to post them for me I can email them if interested
