Can anyone tell me what I have. I assumed from the G33 stamped on the case, the serial number on the bayonet starting with a G
that it was for a G 33 but it does not conform to anything online. Thanks !

WWII issue K98. May have been in storage until the mid sixties.

International out of Montreal and Alan Lever brought in several thousand of them in 1967. All brand new, old stock, covered in grease, wrapped in brown wax paper, all stacked neatly/separated in crates of 24 each.

I had a crate of those, until the price went through the roof.

I had thought they were post war East German manufacture. I was informed at a gun show that they were late war.

Correct, the pictures were sent to a advanced collector and he said its a 1941 Portuguese K98 Bayonet. Explains the non conforming sn markings, dark bluing etc.

Could very well been the bayonets that Alan imported, who knows.

Thanks !!

the Portuguese ones I believe came in through International or Century firearms. I have one here that I got in Bosnia in 97.
