Unkown marlin 925 spring

I was taking apart my marlin 925 last night to replace the trigger spring and realized this other spring came out of nowhere.. it's about half the size of the trigger spring but twice as stiff... the rifle went back together fine and everything seems to be in order.. was wondering if anyone knew of any other springs other than the one I changed.

Oh bugger.. That must be it. I couldn't see it in my schematic that came with the rifle.. Thanks! I'll go check it out right away.
