Unoccupied duck blinds on public land?

Here is how I feel and everyone in my personal hunting group feels with regards to waterfowling blinds on public land. Opening day blinds are used by the builders, after opening day its first come first serve. If you're there before me and I know you we may hunt together, but most likely I'm going to say hello and then move on to someplace else.

Some people who erect blinds or stands on public land believe they're entitled to that spot for the season simply because they built something there. Could you please explain how this sense of entitlement is any different than what the "lazy members of the entitlement generation" have? There's a sense of entitlement on both sides, no?

If you'd like to have your own blind available to you any time you wish I suggest seeking permission from private land owners.

Again, could you please explain how one sense of entitlement somehow trumps the other? What gives the person who erected a blind or stand the right to decide who can use something they built on land that they do not own? That's like building a bench beside an ice rink in a public park to watch hockey games and expecting others not to use it and to move when you get there simply because you're the one who bought the materials and built it. Sounds kinda silly doesn't it?



That said, I personally move on to another location if I see someone's stand in the bush (like I mentioned in the "treestand" thread that was locked) simply to avoid problems with hunters who believe they have exclusive rights to a specific spot because they put their stand there, even though they are completely wrong.

"...reopens here..." Where is that? Is the "public land" Provincial, Federal or municipal Crown Land? Do a net search for whatever is it and look for 'useage rules'.
Generally, there's no such thing as 'My blind" on any Crown Land. No buildings at all. Listen to Grouseman.
