Over the last several days, including Saturday/Sunday, we have seen hundreds of restricted firearms clear. The BC CFO , it seems, has been particularly busy. While this is great news as many are months old now, this has created a bit of a 'log jam' in shipping. We had over 300 new ones to pick and ship Monday morning alone. We will get them all out ASAP- we have extra help with the shipping but please be a bit patient with us as we try to get through these orders.

I can't help but think that despite the instore nightmare it must be to pick and package 300 handguns...... it's kind of glorious at the same time now isn't it?

We are set up to do over 100 parcels a day normally. Of course, we have those to do on top of the handguns but we have extra help and we are getting them done ASAP!!

You guys are awesome. I’ve already gotten my may/June stuff (including some from you) but your open communication about status both back then, and still now, is very much appreciated.
With that said, maybe it’s just my tinfoil hat is a little tight, but I’m curious what change that all of a sudden the CFO(s) is in a hurry to process these. I can think of one or more good reasons:
New year, new budget, extra staff.
They’ve given up on dicking around, realized that C 21 is likely to fail, and they’re actually going back to processing things properly because sooner or later we will return to the previous status quo.
Of course, I can think of one or two negative reasons, including basically the inverse of the above.
I sure hope this is only and all good news.
Sorry for side tracking your thread. Feel free to delete this if it’s unwelcome, no hard feelings here.

Can hope this also means there has been a change in staff at the BC cfo office
for someone closer to reality maybe

Said nobody, ever, that has dealt with the federal govt.

Just a theory, but I think the BC CFO has gotten far enough into the summer that most of the dealers were out of stock, and PR was one of the few that still had wee pews to sell (plus the G48 and Ruger wrangler production lines in the basement). So if PR went from being 10% of the overall handgun sales to 50% of the overall sales, it stands to reason they would see an uptick on their end (even if the BC CFO is approving the same number as before).

They figured since all those guns are about to be confiscated, why the hell not stop wasting time and energy and just complete the transfers. The only reason we ever had the transfer process was to make ownership so onerous that no one will want to go through the crap to get it done.

No worries. I'm still waiting on the Ontario CFO to approve the transfer of my G48. A little longer because of a shipping backlog isn't an issue. I appreciate that you had them available and didn't gouge like other some dealers.

The odd bit is the time of clearance - I got the notice at 2049 hrs on Jan 5th. Someone is not working government hours. I see the transfer clearance added to my order at Prophet River - good to see this thread I was thinking of calling today but now I won't. I've already waited since August, a few more days to ship isn't a big deal.

Do you have a gmail address? I’ve gotten ATTs and transfer notifications at weird times, sometimes like 8+ hours later when they said they sent it while I was on the phone, because for some reason the government email system doesn’t play nice with gmail.

They initiated my transfer on Aug 27 i got my transfer last night at 9:34pm. But, I'm still waiting on the the transfer that started before 27 Aug. I'm in BC.
