I was in Al Flahertys on Saturday in order to look at their shipment of used Glock 22s with the NY trigger. The Glock I examined came with a brand new frame. Of course the serial number on the frame didn't match the slide or barrel serial numbers. Boy was I in for a further surprise. Something that I thought I would never see up here in Canada. The pistol had an attached label stating that it came from Abbotsford. I never thought that I would see the day, what appears to be, a Canadian police force selling it's used pistols to the Canadian public.....

The "pistol" didn't come from Abbotsford - as you mentioned, it had a brand new frame. Which part of the pistol is "the gun" - the frame is. It was (under law) a brand new pistol, fitted with surplus parts. Granted ALL of the parts were surplus, but the "gun" was brand new. No biggie. Sounds like a great deal, I'll have to watch out for these.

I certainly have to agree. It's a terrific deal when you think of it. The tag attached to the gun definitely said Abbotsford on it. It was explained to me that when they decided to dispose of their Glocks a thorough refurbishing was performed on all the them. This particular Glock, that the sales guy showed me, apparently had a badly damaged frame which had to be replaced. How many other Glocks suffered this fate is unknown to me.
