Gentlemen,
I have just acquired a very unusual Krag for $325 (did I overpay?). Dated 1917 with a 1915? barrel, with a ( 15 over F Runic Cross/Swastika 2) marking. It has features I have not seen on one before, such as a an adjustable front sight with two screws, one to move the front sight left and right, provisions for a slide on hood perhaps (the barrel end looks very unusual), the remains of a bayonet lug, drill and tap for what seems to be a diopter setup, and BRASS trigger guard, butt plate, magazine box and box side plate. Bolt is smooth of a typical Krag, and it has an interesting canvas/metal military style sling. Otherwise it seems to be a usual sporter Krag. Bolt is not matching but appears to be very early manufacture (I think?), the stock does not match the gun but matches itself. The bore is very good, with very strong rifling and is full of dust. Has not been cleaned for a long time. I bought it from a gentleman at the range who has had it in his closet for many years and who got it from someone else a long time ago as a hunting gun.
Anything you can tell me about this rifle would be very very appreciative! Pictures are found below.

Thanks,
Nabs
