The rifle is about 1913 manufacture. Tang sights were quite popular on the early rifle models, less common on carbines. (Rifles have a 26" barrel, carbines 20")
The .30 WCF is the .30-30. Although I notice this one also has a sporting rear sight, which suggests an aftermarket add-on at some point.
I'm guessing the gun is a rifle model, round barrel, probably a crescent buttplate. Very standard issue, but the tang sight adds a bit if value, as does an octagonal barrel. Actually, until about WW I, the octagonal barrel outsold the round barrel on the rifle models by a good margin, but the octagonal is more valuable today. It was about a 2 dollar option at the turn of the century. Price will be dependent on condition, but if you send more photos to this forum, one of our gurus can probably ballpark it.
Besides which, Win 94's are one of the coolest rifles on earth. If I had a long-barrel model, I'd just keep it.

I'll give him $100 Klunk, drop it by the shop and I'll appraise it for him.........
.........from the pics I won't go any higher than $125..tops!
Hell, I'll even go to his house to pick it it up !
;)

The rifle is "worth" between $350.00 and $600.00 depending on condition.

The tang sight (if it's an original like it appears rather than a reproduction) would fetch $150.00 to $200.00 (maybe even a bit more) on eBay.

Total value for the rifle and sight $500.00 to $800.00 dependant on condition.

I recently bought a Winny Dated 1905 for $500.00....Very good shape and shoots like a dream...with the sight add about $50-$100 more...so this gun is worth about $500-$600....I would pay that.

Nice to see some accurate values here.
For a while there were some retards quoting ridiculious values on old long barrels!
It's hard to judge value with-out better pics, but looks like a grey reciever.
Assuming the bore is bright & there is some blueing left on the barrel I'll roughly value the gun at $400. + tang another $100-200.
$500-550 for rifle would be a fair deal to both partys.

Pretty definitive answers & information.

Now it's up to you to determine condition of the bore .. and how much blueing/varnish remains. Condition, in the end - determines price.

An octagon/rifle is certainly worth a little more than a round/rifle, and I would concur with Kilo Charlie ... the sight may well be an after-market add-on, but still a desireable bit.

P.S. Not that "unusual" at all ! Just less common than all the
carbines out there !
