No not quite. An article promoting hunting and the use of the extra safe, not fully automatic, can't be converted... shotgun. Preferably of the break action single barrel variety.
 
It's not the first time the region has tried to address the growing Canada geese population. Last year, the Capital Regional District carried out a cull. But only 43 birds were killed at a cost of $31,000.

Tax payers should be made aware of how much it would cost to control wildlife if not for hunting. After a year or two of no hunting there would be a White-tail through the grill of every second vehicle and insurance prices would sky rocket. The crop damage would be every bit as costly. In stead of all this anti gun talk we would be getting subsidies and free ammo.
 
Regina has lots of geese crapping all over everything in Wascana as well. Regina has people who are not getting enough to eat. Hmmm.

Can't you just see a couple of big old Suburbans pull up, a bunch of guys getting out and cutting loose with their 10ga. 3 1/2" semi autos. CBC would probably melt down! :p cou:
 
Exactly....and when they did then they would begin the tree huggers favorite idea, "birth control" or as you and I know it, egg oiling because of course that is much more friendly to the Mommy and Daddy Geese. It doesn't resolve the issues but it's a nice "soft" alternative!! f:P:
 
don't want to shoot them. well i had a old native fellow tell me years ago. you want geese just dig a trench with a slope put seed or bread down and when they are in the trench get a stick and bash them in the head. if geese are in a trench they cannot back up.
 
Thats amazing that they would spend that on getting rid of a few geese. I too would be wealthy if you could charge that kind of cash to get rid of them.
 
Must be twenty years ago i was in Victoria, fanatical golfer. The Greater Canada's owned the courses. So tee up, run out with your driver to scare them off the front of the tee box....hustle back and hit before they get back. So one guy from our group hit a "worm burner" smokes a goose right in the head at 10 yards....ball is probably doing 200mph off the clubface. Wrings the neck and packs the goose home.

Full of worms, fertilizer for the garden.......Not exactly yummy.

I would imagine there will be a sh-t storm of protests in Victoria, time warp hipster, vegan, environmental capital of Canada. Emotion will rule, over fact.
