Unwelcome Canada geese prompt push to allow hunting on Victoria farmland

Regina has lots of geese crapping all over everything in Wascana as well. Regina has people who are not getting enough to eat. Hmmm.

Can't you just see a couple of big old Suburbans pull up, a bunch of guys getting out and cutting loose with their 10ga. 3 1/2" semi autos. CBC would probably melt down! :p cou:

They opened up hunting of the "Wascana" flock about 4-5yrs ago. The numbers were considered to be sufficient.....

But you still have to wait until they are out of city limits, and you can't hunt within 400 meters of a building..... Which pretty much makes it impossible to hunt the Wascana flock.....

And they're pretty much universally considered the worst tasting birds you can find anywhere!

I don't bother with the big Canada's any more. Haven't shot one the past two seasons. I pass on them now. I much prefer hunting the lessers. I love hunting those squeaky chirpy sounding little buggers, lol. As for table fare I'll take the Specks, Snows and Canada's in that order.

In Beardmore, Ontario the locals use a hockey stick with snare wire attached to one end. They feed the geese bread and a day or two before the season opens they take them.

Only in Victoria, where political correctness has over taken common sense.

Candocad.

But what was used on them? Is it like New York City a few years ago? when they had problems with canada geese at the airports, but its NYC, so they lured them (can't remember how) into temporary gas chambers and suffocated them... which seems so much crueler than shooting them...
