**Update**Help me choose from 4 guns! I need advice!!

OK. I'm hooked.

Went out for the first time 4 weeks ago to try a round of trap. Have since shot 800 rounds of 12 ga (4 rounds x 2 times a week).

Last 8 rounds scored all in the 20's.

Time to get a nice O/U. I'm tired of picking up hulls off the ground from my semi-auto. (The people to my right would be happy as well I imagine:p )

What do I buy?

A Caesar Guerini Magnus 12ga, 30" bbls, extended chokes, nice wood, case and engraving, (demo gun but looks new) for 3000 plus taxes?

OR

A Beretta SV-10 Perinia (sp?) 28" bbls, chokes, case, with Kick Off (Demo as well but looks new) for 2300.00 plus taxes?

OR

A Beretta SV-10 Perinia same as above with out the kick off for 1800.00 plus taxes.

OR

A Beretta 686e sporting. 30" bbls, rather plain wood, adjustable comb though, chokes and case Brand new from Bass Pro for 2550.00 plus taxes?

All fit me well. Are the prices right? I don't want to pay more than I have too.

WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY?? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

Not the SV Perennia. It's a hunting gun which means it's a little lighter than the other two. Also 28" barrels are a little on the short side for trap.

Flip a coin between the Beretta 686 and the Guerini.
 
686, a much more versitile shotgun and will last forever!!!!!!!!!! It also has a much higher resale value in the future when you might want to upgrade.

You're a fool if you can afford the 686 and don't buy it.

Get mod/full chokes for trap, two skeet chokes for skeet, and an improved mod for sporting clays (mod/imp mod combo).

I put slightly less than 55,000 rounds through a 686 Silver Pigeon during my stint on the national team and it was still in damned near "new" condition. Best damned shotgun I ever owned, which I then passed on to a new young shooter when I left the sport (hopefully to return someday when my college career is done).

That's good advice IF you are going to shoot trap and nothing but trap. However there are other games that the OP might try and a trap gun isn't particularly good for any of them. Nothing worse than owning a BT99 and wanting to try another game. Been there, done that. Sold the BT and bought a Beretta 682.

What does speak in favour of the 686E is the adjustable comb. Raise it for trap, lower it for skeet or sporting clays.

I know why I would choose this one over the others; It is by far the prettiest of the four. Any particular reason why it would be your choice? Quality? Re-sale value?

Sorry, I should have specified that I will also be wanting to shoot doubles with this gun after I shoot my first 25 straight! I also would want to try skeet in the future (our club doesn't have a skeet set up). I want a gun with a little versatility.

Personaly I would go with the Guerini. I have been shooting one for 4 years and it's the best gun for the money. I always felt that beretta o/u kicked. The Caesar Guerini is so soft to shoot. As for resale value I disagree that the 686 will hold better its value. I am looking at buying a 20 ga sporting Guerini and have a hard time finding a used one for a decent price. I guess they hold their value. I would suggest that you shoulder all of them and pick the one that fits you best. It's all in the feel. Good luck
 
go to your club and shoot the gun you have , and ask a lot of questions . There will be guns for sale there and you will be able to shoot them before you buy . That will give you a little more knowledge to make a choice . Do not buy on what looks good . I have seen lots of good looking guns that did not fit or suit the shooter , up for sale ......
 
the 686 is over priced . just got a sumit impact , a lot of gun for the money . buy a used B gun hold value or guerini . good luck , make sure it fits !!!!!!!!!

Where did you get that that Guerini shotguns had soft receivers? are you talking about target guns or hunting guns?
