Gun nutz,
I had a case seperation and the ejector ripped the case in half leaving it stuck in the chamber. Any ideas for removing it? It's really stuck.

Thanks

If the base of the case is completely separated I believe the common practice is to fill the chamber with a sort of putty, wait for it to harden, then knock it out and the remainder of the case with it. A gunsmith should be able to do this for you.

If the case remains intact, use a dowel rod down the bore and a mallet.

id heat the outside of the barrel/breach with a heat gun then spray some freeze onto the case from an air duster can and pop it out by pushing a rod down the barrel.

The bottom of the case has come off so there is not bottom to tap against. It is very tight against the chamber may have baked some of of the laquer and now it's like glue

Then you'll have to take it to a gunsmith, Like I said, he'll make a form of the chamber and use that to pull the case out.

Still try with a dowel, I have had this happen to me aswel and the dowel worked good. Next time youll remeber to scrub the chamber well before your next time out!!!!!!

I have an X39 stuck case remover that uses a collet that expands into the case mouth. Then you use a cleaning rod to knock it out. PM me if you want to borrow it, I'm in Wembley and will be around this weekend.

That's the way to go.

If you were in PR I'd lend you mine.

I thought everyone had a Broken shell extractor, Marstar sells 7.62x39 ones, I keep one in the butt trap of all my sks,s, you put in chamber, let action go forward , then grab cocking handle, pull back slide, extractor pulls case out. disengage extractor from case, return to butt stock

I had the exact same problem, also in a vz58. Hammering on a rod did nothing, filling it with epoxy didn't work either. A helpful fellow on this board used a drill and tap, tappped through the bottom of the case and got the case out that way. Good luck man

broken shell extractor worked for me. Nice to have on hand if it happens again, rifle back in service after a couple min. Usually needed to pound the charging handle with a 2x4 block though, it was really stuck.

if all else fails take a mechnics pick toolt and drive it inbetween the case and the chamber wall, the case will start to colapse inward. once started a small flathead should let you work it more, if the case doesn't pop out at this point drive a rod onto it from the barrel end, as there will be a lip to actualy hit on now. Ive got stuck cases out this way without damaging the gun or the reloading die.
