**update**My CanadianGunnutz no frills working gun done on the cheap.

Well lots of folks here post awesome pics of beautiful firearms where price is no object. After having a few Stevens 200's, Rugers and Remington SPS's, i thought i would wait a bit before going to the store and see if a no frills .30-06 came up on the board. With a new baby money is alot tighter these days. Lo and behold a Winchester Ranger .30-06 came up and i bought it. Thanks Rembo. Its a Winchester 70 action with blind mag and push feed. I opened up the barrel channel and free floated the barrel. Slicked up the bolt with some polishing compound and wet/dry sandpaper then sanded down the stock and primed it. I then hit it with 4 coats of Duplicolor bedliner. Right now i have some Millet rings(thanks cccan )and a Leupold M8 6x36 (thanks Eagleye ) on it. Going to try it out in a couple days. If all goes well it will be my "Working Class CanadianGunnutz Special"

Here's an update. Just got back from from a trip to P&D this aft. Leupold base and rings and flip up caps.

It would look better if they were lower but my eye is dead on the scope when i shoulder the gun. I am hoping to pick up a Leupold base and rings in a month or two for it.

Those Win. pusfeeds are reliable and accurate guns, I have two CRF's but would buy a PF any time if they came in LH. They can be found for a reasonable price generally, solid hunting rig for sure.

Great outfit, and a great scope. Perfect for your new rifle. I've owned M-8's in both 6X and 12X, they are very good scopes.

I just got back from a trip to P&D and picked up a Leupold base and rings for it. Going to install tonight while UFC is on. Also picked up a set of tru glo sights for the guidegun!!
