I was inspired to contact the president of North American Arms, Mr. Sandy Chrisholm.
After a bit of talk I asked if they would be willing to produce "The Earl" in a Canadian Legal 4.25" for us Northerners. His response was as follows:
I then went a bit further, and asked:
His reponse was as follows:
Shortly after (these guy's work quick, a testimate to there willingness to worth with Canadians to get there fine firearms in our hands) I received an email from Austin Sheridan, There export agent, in regards to pricing and shipping as follows:
So I guess whats next is.....well hell...I dunno... I didn't expect to get this far in one day. I have the following documents from them:
Customer Inq Form
Forwarder Inq revised Form
NAA 2009 Export Pricing.xls (that we add $10/Earl for the custom barrel length)
DSP83
Which all look like a bunch of Import/Export documents.
Anyway's, what I'm getting at is, North American Arms is willing to build "The Earl", in a Canadian legal 4.25" barrel, in a limited run of 50+ units....with UNIQUE SERIAL NUMBERS!!!
So now all thats left is an importer, and 49 orders (I want CDN001
)
Thoughts?
I was inspired to contact the president of North American Arms, Mr. Sandy Chrisholm.
After a bit of talk I asked if they would be willing to produce "The Earl" in a Canadian Legal 4.25" for us Northerners. His response was as follows:
Trevor - I have repeatedly expressed our willingness to do just that, but I have yet to hear from any importer who would be willing to apply for the import license and place a reasonable order (50 pieces). If/when I do, we will be happy to enter the Canadian market. - Sandy
I then went a bit further, and asked:
If this were to happen, and we can get an order of 50 (or more) Earl's, made to Canadian barrel length (4.25" has generated the most interest), Would North American Arms be willing to do a special run with say numbering (1 of 50, 2 of 50, ect) or something special to signify the Canadian aspect? (ie, a maple leaf on the barrel or some such?). If so, the second question would be whats included and approximate (USD) price? In a configuration as follows:
NAA Earl in 4.25"
.22lr and .22magnum cylinders
Numbering to signify limited edition first run.
His reponse was as follows:
Trevor - Pricing would be determined by our export agent, Austin Sheridan http://www.austinsheridanusa.com/ . In addition to his quote, I would anticipate you should add about $10 ea. for special handling at the NAA factory as well as our expected charge for the longer barrel. We would be happy to serialize these uniquely, such as CDN001, 002 etc. - Sandy
Shortly after (these guy's work quick, a testimate to there willingness to worth with Canadians to get there fine firearms in our hands) I received an email from Austin Sheridan, There export agent, in regards to pricing and shipping as follows:
