Well I took my new Glock 22 back to the range yesterday. After weighing all the comments in my original post I, did a good cleaning and lubing of the gun( there was alot of copper lube on it,5 times more than the 17) I was more carefull in loading the mags and tried to improve my grip.
I started with 2 five roung mags with the Fiocchi ammo(the brand I had the problem with. Chambered a round, fired and jam, the case ejected but the next round would not go in. I cleared that and had one more jam on that mag.
I think it jammed on the second mag when I tried to chamber the first round, the rest of the mag fired ok. I then switched to the Remmington UMC 180 gr and the Blaser 165 ammo and fired a few mags with no problems. I then went back to the Fiocchi ammo and shot off the rest of the box without a problem, about 35 rounds.
Some observations I made were that looking at the 3 brands side by side there was a noticable ridge at the bottom edge of the bullet on the Fiocchi brass. The other brands were much smoother. Also it seemed to take more effort loading the Fiocchi ammo into the clips??
Not sure what to conclude here? Maybe the gun just needed a few cycles to smooth up a couple of parts, maybe it was the ammo or my grip ? I probably won't be buying the Fiocchi ammo again and I guess time will tell.
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions in my first post on this. Good shooting. Cheers Roscoe
