Update on "Question about crown land and hunting and target shooting"

I was suprised to see the recoil yesterday. Man am I happy that is wasn't at bad. The jacket I had on was so thin also, so I don't get it

Well - MY body never seems to get 'used' to recoil (although i'm blessedly resistant to begin with by some good fortune).

I'd suggest this cereal - your gun may not be a perfect 'fit' to you, and when you're just in a t-shirt it hurt, whereas the small amount of extra clothes just helps it to 'sit' right. The difference between a gun sitting right on you and 'not quite' can be HUGE when it comes to felt recoil.

You might want to talk to your gunsmith about it - he can probably get a spacer if it'll help.

Of course - it's possible after handling your gun a little more you just found a 'good spot' this time and were holding it slightly 'off' last time.

Glad to hear the groups improved. Tell us what you did that you think helped and what didn't - or was it just a little more pratice that was necessary? I'm sure it'll be good info for other shooters facing the same problems.

You've just listened to advice and have learned how to hold the rifle and minimize the "felt" recoil I figure cereal. Glad to hear you had a good time. :) And that the groups are shrinking:cool:

Ya what Foxer said. See your already passing on advice to others;)

I don't think anything I did was new or anything. I wasn't at scared this time. I did have the thin jacket on. I took tips from here like making sure the butt of the gun was pressed against me. I pulled the trigger slowly and 90% of the time, the shots scared me. I went through so many bullets and I wasn't sore at all. The lenth of the gun could be an issue but I am not sure yet. I got a recommended to a gunsmith and I am gonna go see him when I get my limbsaver to be installed but I will also ask him about the lenth and etc.

For the groups. I am not sure how they improved. It was really windy out. I was only shoting at 50 yards and thats all I shot at. I didn't even try 100 because I want to get good forst at 50. My shots are consistant yet but a few shots are getting much closer. I should have scanned my target as you would see what I am talking about. Out of 4 shots, 1 could hit high left and another low right but 2 of them would be almost touching eachother. I just need more pactice.

I am going to go out again next weekend hopefuly and I will get even better.

It's pretty fun. Costs alot thought for bullets. I shot my .22 alot but since it was really windy it was hard to get them close. Out of like 100 bullets, they were in about a 5 inch circle. which isn't bad I guess
