It's been a while since we've had an update about this rifle....any news?

And while were at it is AIA still making guns?

Are you still the importer for Canada?

Thanks, CD

I believe Johnone mentioned in another thread that the 7.62x39 guns were stuck in the US and the State Dept wouldn't approve an export permit.

I am so pleased with my AIA 7.62 Nato, that I would seriously consider getting one of these rifles too. Hope they get them out of limbo soon.

Yeah, but are there plans to import any directly from Australia?

Are there still feeding issues that need fixing with the 7.62x39 models?

Is the magazine on these an obstacle still and what capacity will it be?

Are anymore 7.62x51 AIA mags being imported?

Good questions there fella, maybe johnone will chime in. :p

:bump:

Somehow it's hard to imagine any mag that increases the mag limit over 5 for an AK being excepted in Canada......it's not designed for a pistol and infact I don't even think it's designed for the AIA.....it's basicly an AK mag.

CAN DOWN:
"And while were at it is AIA still making guns?" YES
"Are you still the importer for Canada?" also YES

CANUCK 223;
The ones in the US are tied up in litegation, we are considering bring some in from Australia if the legal issues are not resolved soon....

VIMY RIDGE;
"Are there still feeding issues that need fixing with the 7.62x39 models?"
You have been reading too many US sites, this issue was long ago resolved....
"Is the magazine on these an obstacle still and what capacity will it be?"
NEVER was an issue, they were, are and will be 10rds mags....

"Are anymore 7.62x51 AIA mags being imported?"
We have been on back for quite a while from the producer....Expect to clear this shortly....

Please stop thinking, you will injure yourself....

Like with the No-4 Mk-4 we have a magazine that is quite similar to another BUT will not function in said firearm....

Although this mag looks like an AK mag it WILL NOT fit an AK, only the bolt action rifle, therefore we had it approved....

Well there ya go.....last time we talked online about this was several years ago and I thought you mentioned some issue with the mags.....but you also said they would probably be ready for Jan. 07 if I remember....it's been a while and all this thinking is hurting my brain!

Thanks for the update and I will try not to think about this gun as much as I have for the last couple of years...

Cheers

CAN-DOWN;
Just make certain your federal thought permit is current....
Isn't there a thought registry ??

On the serious side, all is resolved, we can bring them in, BUT as I said, they are tied up in a bankruptcy litigation in the US.... If thyey are not released we will import from Autralia.

Thanks for the interest
John
