Update on the DLASK shorties ?

Will they be making barrels for the others as well? It would be nice to get some shorties for the Winchesters and Mossbergs as well.

Before you get down on DLASK , I don't think there ever was an announcement from them saying they were going to make these barrels. It was someone talking to someone, maybe in the shop and that may be what he or they would like to do but maybe it is not feasible at this time.

Yup, and every CO seems to have a different idea of what is a hunting shotgun, and a Bear/predator Defence one is.

Some say 2 in the mag one in the Chamber rule, and others say that's stupid, and in Bear country take the stupid dowel out, and load her up with Slugs.

I contacted the BCWF Not long ago, and even they couldn't give me a straight answer. One person there said it was a typo made and forgotten about, and is on the list of fixes someday, as it was ment to parallel the USA Migratory bird act, but not for hunting Land mammals.

Freaking badly worded CaRp! I wish the CFC and the BCWF would get thir CaRp together.

I guess this same subjectivity goes for Length also...personaly I'd carry all related documents in a double waterproof bag and keep it close, as it might be a good argument stopper /arse saver if one comes accross a Bitter CO.

Last time I emailed Dlask, Joe responded "we don't do that line of work" :?

Apparently every email sent from there is signed "Joe" so if you luck out to get a guy that doesn't know about the project you get an email like yours. The shottie barrel questions are all supposed to be handled by one guy now to stop that...

Scroll down to Dlask Tactical Entry Shotgun. Looks like a real short (14") barrel shotgun to me. The 3rd picture in shows the barrel to be a non-factory remington color. In a follow up email he replied he was not selling that. So why is it advertised :?: :? :x Is he just teasing us?

I dont understand why it makes a difference on barrel size to hunting regs. More Canadian laws I will never understand.

It affects energy of the bullet, and moves toward handgun hunting. They are not prepared to support handgun hunting at the moment, and if you have a barrel shorter than 12 inches even if it has a stock attached you're obviously getting into 'handgun' type actions and cartridges.

That sounds like a good answer!!! I could see handgun hunting never being alowed in Canada.

From what I have read, handgun hunting was legal in Ontario until 1965. Don't know about other provinces.

That's been on the sight for at least a year or two. I doubt it has anything to do with the barrels advertised on CGN.

NaOH,

My points were: The barrel looks manufactured, like the short ones that we're talking about. And that he's saying he not selling his Tactical Entry Shotgun despite advertising it, for years according to you. If he not selling, then why advertise? :? Just what is he selling?

Ok. I'm sorry for leaving everyone in the dark. I just got back.
The project is still in the go, but here's the problem. The barrels that I started from scratch are done. BUT... I can't find anyone here to hone the bores for us. no one here wants to do it, even with a promise of one hundred to follow. I have eight barrels sitting around with machine marked bores. I don't have anything aggressive enough to remove the tooling scoring. If anyone in the Vancouver area knows anyone who will do it please let me know, or in the custom seamless tubing business. In the meantime, we're looking into having them made in cylinder form and then chambered and fitted here. This option is looking more promising and we should have them in the next couple of months if it pans out. We have already been quoted for quantity. Also I'll still be the only one to answer emails again regarding the project. If you send an email, make it attn: Dean. All I can say is be patient.
Dean,
Dlask Arms

Good to hear they are still in the works.
