Question:
My LTATT is coming due in November. Are there any BC IPSC competitors getting their LTATT's renewed to including provinces other than BC?
My current LTATT includes all western provinces, the Yukon, all border crossings and licensed gunsmiths. Thanks.

Ltatt

Tim,

I don't think as of yet we have gained any privileges in regards to the CFO's and IDPA. Maybe someday. And maybe I will become King of Canada.:D

They're trying to crack down on everything but don't even realize that they are the nut that is cracked!:D

Are the CFO's giving IDPA memberships as much freedom as IPSC memberships?

.

Phone your CFO's and ask.

I seem to recall a thread sometime ago regarding a multi-province LTATT for IDPA membership.

Bob will no doubt show up anytime now and set us all straight. :)

When I phoned they said I should fax copies of both my membership cards.

Yes. I don't know what John's experience was but I had to argue for the four Western Provinces last time around. I wouldn't bet one way or another with the Alberta CFO. BC seems to be the most lenient of all the CFO's.

Take Care

Easy as pie.:)

I called the office and explained I was an IPSC and IDPA member and wanted to modify my LTATT for all the western provinces. The gentleman on the other end of the phone told me 'no problem' and said all I had to do was fax them a copy of my membership cards with a note explaining what I wanted.

Did as directed and received my new permit around 10 days later.

I faxed copies of my IPSC and IDPA membership cards to the Alberta CFO.

They told me I had to establish a "pattern" of traveling outside the province to matches before they would give me a multi-province LTATT. (no set number, but something like 3-5 STATT requests)

If you manage to get the multi-pass, please let me know the secret.

Update

Here is a update. I received my LT-ATT from the BC-CFO in the mail today. I am very happy to see I remained status quo :D.

Good for 5 years, to all approved ranges in Western Canada, licensed gunsmiths and US border crossings. The only difference this time around was the inclusion of my club membership and I had to show membership with IPSC Canada. I love BC.

Triangle in Toronto and Indoor challenge in Montreal. Two of the best matches all year.

Where it's the RCMP administering the FA I don't see the big deal with a multi prov. att issued. They're just giving out permits in areas that fall within their jurisdiction... RCMP in BC may as well be RCMP in Manitoba...
Now, where it's the provincial authorities such as the OPP and SQ doling out att's.... are people getting multi province permits... My guess would be no.
