CFC will give you info on the firearm involved and the date of transaction but likely not the buyers info. You'll have to check old paperwork, emails, PM's etc (if you kept them).
Good luck

Thank you guys...I've done that and the info they have ends with me being the owner.

The CFC would have a record of any transfer that took place, and would provide you with the info on the new owner.

If on the other hand a transfer was never initiated, then it still belongs to you and the CFC will be of no assistance.

Check your bank records if it was paid by EMT. You will have a record of a payment received in your past transactions, and possible an email address. As long as you have a good idea when it left your possession then you can search your bank in that date range.

Just a thought, may not work but worth a try.

That's an excellent idea...thank you. :)

Check your trader rating....You have a lot of them, so you may have some work ahead of you. Somewhere along the line, someone may have left a rating and it may ring a bell when you read it.

You have several threads about guns registered to you that you seem to not have in your possession and can't remember disposing of. Here's an idea, probably not the answer but you need to consider everything:

Do actually remember being in possession of each of these missing guns? Have you had so many guns for so long that it's possible that if there had been some glitch in the CFC that assigned gun registrations to you and you had never actually owned those guns you wouldn't remember and you just believed their mistake?

I hope you get this sorted out soon. Just imagining the potential implications for the future as a gun owner of someone in this situation is distressing, to say the least.

Wonder if you transferred the wrong gun on a when you made the sale? Sold and sent the missing gun, but did the transfer with the wrong cert. #
ie. the CFC transferred another rem700 .223 that you own

Thanks Guys. :) I have already figured out the revolver...and this rifle was owned by me, and I still have the reg. cert. Just trying to find the new owner.

if cfc says u have it but you clearly sold it, then report it stolen to cover your own butt. who ever have it will eventually get pulled over and the cfc will have the serial # flagged anyway. problem solved

Wow...you must have and move a lot of gear to have run into that kind of a problem...

personally I dont' ship or allow pickup for any firearm before its been transfered away.....I trusted someone once and it took so long to complete the transfer that I wont' let it happen again.

Perhaps you started a transfer and it was never completed......humm you might have to pm a whole bunch of the guys you left feedback for.
