UPDATE: Rossi Ranch Hand Mares Leg

I have to admit, after drooling over them since about october last year, this is a sore blow. Very disappointing to say the least. But what can you do.

At least maybe you can scare us up some of those henry 22's to tide us over. It's sounding like it's going to be several more months before the ranch hands are here.

I hate passing this on, but there is no official ETA now for the Ranch hands into Canada. According to Rossi/Tauras, manufacturing production has been below what they projected in the first quarter and they have above sales expectations. So put those together and here we are....Good news is they are filling orders as they receive them...

will keep posting updates...Gary

That's too bad, I was hoping to try out "handgun" hunting on a bear this spring. I actually saw my first bear today, I was about 10 feet from him with my 45 COlt Trapper, but didn't pul the trigger.:D

we should find out what they are doing with all those trail judge rifles they discontinued since they turned out to be illegal in the states ;)

Hey gary - i notice they make a lever action version of the circuit judge rifle - presumably the rcmp can't say THAT was a pistol action

woa thats weird. its not on their website but after googling it it doesnt look half bad. kinda neat actually... but it wouldnt surprise me if the RCMP said it was restricted just based on the fact that it has the name "circuit judge" kuz thats pretty evil right there...

Well i can't see any sane reason they'd say it was restricted.

Sigh - i LOVE that little 22lr, but i don't even have to ask if they're going to be stupid enough to call that restricted.

focus on the ranch hand, well its hard to when we all know everything there is to know about when it will come here and we have discussed holsters and belts etc at nosium and even loads for it. there really isnt much else to talk about other than being excited for when it gets here.

but we dont even know when it will get here...

what .22 are you referring to foxer? the henry lever mares leg one?

Every time Im in Wanstalls I ask Gary about the mares leg out of curiosity and trust me the amount of work Wanstalls has put into brining these in is unbelievable. Frustrating when you have a Canadian retailer working so hard and to have americans say tough we heart americans more. Maybe Canadians should make maple syrup next to impossible to import and give those yanks a taste of their own medicine.

how about we make OIL and POWER next to impossible to export from canada and see what they think then :p

although they would probably invade us to contain our "weapons of mass destruction" lol

ah the american way of meddling in everything that isnt theirs to meddle in. classic.

Well we all know gary is pulling for us like mad, and for that we should be truly thankful. It's not like wanstalls is a mega-super-multi-national with all the resources in the world to spend just because a bunch of guys want something a little out of the ordinary :) I know he's investing huge in us to help us get what we want.

I wish we made more of our own guns here in Canada. Turkey makes guns, China makes guns, we make poutine and smoked salmon. What's up with that?

Rossi should import directly to Canada. What's the point in giving American company's all of North America when there are a lot of restrictions at the border?

Since they are making Canadians wait maybe we could place a special order for Canada.... Send them up here with an extra regular butt stock and a regular lever as well so we can convert them to Carbine's or Mare's leg.
Not likely to fly because of the US regulations but if we had a Canadian distributor who imported directly from Brasil we could see better options and prices.

I hate to be honest but the ranch hand is not worth all of that effort. nobody will do that just to bring in a few little lever actions which wont make them much money.

Im not speaking for distributors of course, i just cant see that being a profitable venture. Now if maybe they could bring in all taurus AND rossi firearms directly from brazil there would definately be some money there IMO.

Putting an extra stock and lever that is already a standard part in the box doesn't seem like a lot of work to me and I'm lazy.

The problem is not everyone wants the extras and would not want to pay for them.

I would still like to see direct orders from Brasil to Canada though.

I think if I wanted something like a full stock and smaller lever I would just buy them aftermarket.

Me too, Hopefully they will be easily available. I've already got an extra stock and worse case I reshape and weld the big one but if I could get a stock lever from Gary for $30 or so I'd be stoked.

The big one makes no sense except to allow spin cocking so some lawyer in the states can argue that it is pistol capable of firing and loading with one hand.
