Hello all - I've got a bit of a weird problem - and I've done some searching online and here to try to find an answer, so far no luck. I picked up a brand new 10/22 and have put almost 800 rounds through it, and almost every 10 rounds (sometimes more) - I'll get a FTE. This is almost immediately followed by a FTF. When I remove the casing, 1/2 of the lip of the casing is bent inwards and deformed. I've had the rifle apart, and cleaned the hell out of it, yet it still happens.
General list of things I've tried:
* 5 different types of ammo - it is consistent in failing on all ammo
* Run the rifle clean
* Run the rifle dirty
* Tried multiple magazines
* Tried my magazine and ammo in a different 10/22 rifle
Now - before I go any further and spend time polishing the receiver or bolt or some such, I figured I'd turn to the people that may know better than I would, about where to look to check issues that can cause FTE/FTF. All the literature I've read, and the people I've spoken to point to this being an odd case as the Rugers are pretty much solid from the get-go.
So with that....HALP.
