UPdated!! Idiots in Toronto may block ontario spring bear hunt

Yeah, sort of like these idiots here:

A city couple have collected more than 300 names on a petition that seeks a ban on the sale of live lobsters in Stratford.

Cody Sebben and Caitlin Beaudry feel the practice is inhumane, along with the usual method of killing a lobster -- which is boiling it alive.

When kept in tanks they may suffer from stress associated with confinement, low oxygen levels and crowding, says the petition, which notes scientists have found that lobsters feel pain.

The petition refers to researcher Gordon Gunter's view, as reported in the journal Science several years ago, that the boiling alive of a lobster is “unnecessary torture.”

“Ideally we would want the tanks (in supermarkets) completely removed,” said Beaudry. “If it could result in a CrustaStun that would be next best.”

The reference is to a device that applies a numbing electric shock for instant killing before the creatures are cooked.

Sebben and Beaudry, who are in their mid 20s, decided to take action on the lobster issue after discussions with others around lobster tanks where people were expressing views similar to their own.

I hope the liberals put up a decent fight on the bears. I expect "sorry, we tried".

The lobster thing is pretty dis-heartening also. Talk about FULL RETARD. What's next? Last rights for a mosquito before you smack it?

I'm not even sure you could help someone like this. On top of everything else, they're probably school teachers, educating our children.

Wait, how do we know this has anything to do with people from Toronto? Because it says thats where the court hearing is?

Isn't Toronto the provincial capitol, so wouldn't it make sense they also have the provincial courts there? (Just guessing, I live in BC, where our provincial courts are NOT in the capitol, but they are in our biggest city Vancouver.)

My favourite line from these rather sheltered idiots is that people who hunt and fish have not evolved yet. We are murdering innocent creatures to fulfill some primeval blood lust. A basic ignorance of what day to day life is like in the wilderness is the root cause of this outlook. Nothing in the bush dies of old age and never with any compassionate oversight by the attending predator. For reasons known only to this 'evolved' segment of our population, theirs is the only opinion that matters. To try to entertain a discussion with one of these zealots is a fruitless past time. My viewpoint is simple: WE hunt and fish for our own reasons and as long as we follow the law they have no say. They should view us as very necessary wildlife management tools as nature has needed some form of management since the time mankind discovered agriculture. Unfortunately these 'evolved' people think everyone should think exactly as they do, now that's progress.

Since when do Ontario courts manage wildlife??? What a horrendous precedent... almost as bad as public referendum... neither a judge nor the public at large have a clue about managing wildlife and will invariably harm both the game and the ecosystem...

In Bantario the case will and can be filed where ever the person wants to.

It's true that there are idiots everywhere but the ones in Toronto seem to be working together toward a common goal. That's the scary part.
