Upgrade a Remington derringer to a more powerful cartirdge?

Hi I've been thinking of getting a remington 41RF derringer, something like this:

But I want something that shoots a bit more powerful cartridge, and that is easy to get ammo for.

Would it be possible, (and remain a legal antique), to replace the barrel part with something modern that can handle more powerful loads?

The derringer is rim fire. You would have to deal with that issue. Then the hinge is a bit weak, but I suspect the broken ones are from dropping or shaking to eject while the barrels are open.

I thought about it. The hinges are week but the chambers are supper strong and thick walled.
converting one to 41 Long colt would be best,
and just shorten the cases up a little and or ream the chamber deeper.
Converting from RF to CF would be a little tricky to.

As long as the caliber is not on the NO list you would be legal.
Not sure about not busting them Hinges tho.

Look at the Modern copys the only thing major Diffrent is the Hinge there huge on the CF Modern copys.
