Looking for some opinions on range finders, currently have the Leica crf1600 and was thinking of doing a upgrade. Would like to keep it under the $1500 range, currently looking at the Leica 2700 and the Sig kilo 2200. Looking for opinions from anyone who has them or something in this price range that would be better

I picked up a 2700B while I am waiting for the hd-b3000 binos to become available. A friend has the 1600b which is a good unit but the 2700b is significantly better. The beam divergence is literally half the size and of course it's significantly more powerful. There is lots of info on snipers hide comparing the 2700b to the various sig units. I bought the 2700b based on that info.

I'm not sure what the cost difference is between the 2 but I know you can get the Sig 2200 for about $700. I've got one I got as a warranty replacement for my Kilo 2000. It works great. I've used it in field matches out to 1300 or so and on my own time I get returns on trees to a lil over 1600 yards. I haven't tried it on reflective targets cause I don't really see the point but my old 2000 would do a mile on road signs easily.

I can second the sig 2200 performance. I get a little better than 1300m on spruce trees, 1100 on deciduous. Animals are drastically less, best so far is 700m on cows. One thing I learned with this rangefinder is there is a big difference between a red cow and a black one. Black cows do not range worth a darn lol.

Can’t remember which online store it was. Not precision optics anyhow. They had the Leica on sale for 839 I think and I didn’t jump on it. Long after that I messaged and asked if they honour the sale and sure enough they did.
