For a good many years, a shotgun has accompanied me on Moose hunting trips to the B.C. central interior.
A single shot Ranger 410, used just for 'Ditch Chickens' on the way back to camp after a morning hunt and/or on afternoon scouting trips. Over the years, it's provided us with many a good feed.

Today, It was retired and replaced with a Savage model 311, SxS and also in 410. The opportunity presented itself
and I couldn't turn it down

In hindsight, I guess I should've had this in the Hunting and Sporting Shotgun forum. Oh well, I may as well keep the error going. The SxS 410 and the single shot before it, filled a special purpose. As I've mentioned, Ditch Chickens during Moose trips. For upland birds, I have two that get the call. For the dryer days, a 12ga. English double by J.S Boreham.
