Looking at upgrading to a Kidd lightweight barrel on a stock Ruger receiver. Should I upgrade to a better v-block? Is there a noticible difference in the aftermarket ones to the stock one?
Looking to put together a lightweight hiking/ hunting gun. I have a complete Kidd bolt/ charging handle assembly and trigger group to go into it as well.
Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

Factory v block should be fine. I think most aftermarket v blocks are driven towards use with heavy bull barrels with the set screws adding pressure on the barrel. Aftermarket may have a little better machining and tighter tolerances as well. Over torquing your v block screws will effect accuracy much more than changing out the v block ever will.

Thanks for the info!
