I've had my 700P for about 5 years now, and wanted to "spice" it up alittle. I was nervous before painting it, but all went well. There was alot of prep work and I think I went threw a roll of painting tape; for the different colour patterns. I also upgraded my "hunting" rings/base, etc :

*Jewel trigger 1.lbs
*Sinclair International bolt asseble (Firing pin/spring)
*Bedded by A.T.R.S.
*Badger Ordnance Tactical bolt knob (Installed by A.T.R.S.)
*Badger Ordnane 20 MOA base
*Tactical steel rings

Scope is a Bushnell ELITE 4200 8x-32x (40mm), & Harris bi-pod

Wow, you got a bigger pair on you than I do. Turned out very well though. Definitely doesn't look like a first time job. Kinda reminds me of GAP camo, cool lookin' pattern.
 
Nice job and looks great but Krylon is not durable and wears off very easily with regular use. In my opinion you would be better off with something like duracoat which is very easy to apply, does not require baking and is very durable. It stands up to solvents and such unlike Krylon.

Have 6 rifles that have various camo patterns courtesy of Krylon paint..the oldest paint job is over 6 years old and is holding up just fine. Once you get your pattern done, 3-4 coats of Krylon clear Dullcoat over top will serve you well. I'm guessing the 5th can on the right, of his spray cans, is a clearcoat from the looks of it.
If the clear paint appears to be "wearing" just apply some more clear coat .
Have no idea if solvents will deteriorate the paint as I tend to keep them on a patch pulled through the barrel only if used.
 
Nice Job! Did you paint your scope mount after it was installed and how did you protect cover the screw heads? Looks great! Did you sand the barrel before primeing? I want to try this with my Savage but it has a stainless steel barrel and I'm not sure if the Krylon will bond to it.

what kind of bag / ammo holder is that on that stock and where did you get it?

looks like it's set up for left hand shooting though on a RH gun :confused:
 
The stock bag is a very popular brand, I forgot who makes it but there's a version for rifle & shotgun. It comes in black/green/camo and has a suade cheek peice.

And yes its set up for left handed, but I find no problem with it. I never take my eyes off the target, nor my hand off the proper grip/trigger placement...all I do is cycle the bolt with my right hand.

The can on the right is an epoxy clear coat, I have used it myself. In fact I am trying to sand the damn stuff off right now and it sucks. The stuff is rock hard and should not be applied unless you want to drink yourself to sleep in frustration. Seriously:mad:

That is a really good job man. I like it.
