Upgrades

Well finally had a chance to upgrade my casting station. Before I coupled together some wood, tin and a fan to make a fume hood. It was small and had no light.

Yesterday a got a used stove hood. I did not like the fan being lower than the top of the hood so I ripped it out and moved the fan to the top.

Now I have more room and a light to boot.

Just scored a 300 cfm 6" exhaust fan for free from a demo job at work this thing will suck the chrome off a trailer hitch! I get my house tomorrow then the new basement reloading room construction begins!

Just remember to crack a window. Would not want it to suck in the walls.

Mines still a work in progress. Want to install a removable shield for the front so I can do my powder coating cooking inside.

Maybe i will find a small furnace and build a make up air haha. Otherwise i should be able to find a damper setup and install it in a window then interlock them. I plan to build a ducted system for the lead pots and maybe one for the powder coating oven.

I think you might not even need a shield since I'm guessing your toaster oven does not give off more fumes than the fan pulls.

Inaugural run today. Running some tube jig heads for the place I get my wheel weights from. Threw in a big chunk of wax and hardly any smoke made it out of the hood.

I am pleased.
