Upgrading charging handle.

Both are great compared to stock handles. I have a raptor on my mk18 and a bcm on my mk12. If I had to pick one it would be raptor , but it's a close call IMO. Good luck

Hi,

I am thinking of upgrading the charging handle on my Stag AR 15. I am specifically looking at either the BCM or Raptor models.
Any experience or input would be appreciated.

What do you do most of the time with your AR? Shoot from the bench, do some standing slow fire, or do some rapid fire/mag changing/drill practice?

Raptor.
I've tried the BCM gunfighter and a few others that my buddies have. Then I got the Raptor and after trying it, all my buddies did the same. Now I have it on all my ARs (no, I don't work for them).
One Shot Tactical carries them. Site sponsor, banner up top.

The Raptor is a great product. Engineering, build quality and function are all first rate. I wouldn't even try anything else and it's a huge improvement over the OE

I've said this before, but here's my 2¢

If you're looking at replacement charging handles, there are lots of options. Everyone and their dog makes one.

If your heart is set on a Raptor, then give-er. But if you're just looking for an improvement on the GI you can find options for 1/3rd the price of a Raptor that do 90% of the same thing.

Not a whole lot of experience with aftermarket charging handles except for stock or the added on enlarged latch.
But........I am very happy with my new Raptor.
Did not think I would want it or care about such little things.

Until I tried one.

Raptor is the ONLY way to go for CQB. Truly ambi, but doesn't stick out enough to catch on gear. Smooth but built like a tank. Not cheap, but the best if you're in the game.

Go with what you need...if you're just gonna be shooting off the bench, or just using the rifle for casual range time, then a standard charging handle will do...even one slightly upgraded over stock. If you're gonna be using your rifle for 3 gun or any type of CQB-style shooting, then give yourself an advantage, and go with an ambidextrous set-up...in this case, the Raptor would be a good choice.
