upgrading from cq-a, any suggestions?

I'm looking to purchase an american made AR-15 in 5.56/223 with a 16" barrel. I currently have a norinco but need something I can take with me to the US. I guess if I have to buy a new one I might as well spend the money and buy something beautiful that will last and keep me happy. with the market the way it is do you guys have any suggestions of which rifle to purchase that is cuurrently in stock?

If you can find a Daniel Defense. Those are bout the best going in my op right now. Last time I was at Wolverine they had a Bushmaster witch isnt to bad.

Problem is it's really hard to find the good stuff cause the americans are even buying up all the junk for top dollar.

irunguns has the windham for 1200$ and s&w m&p 15's from 1000$ to 1400$ the m&p 15 looks pretty nice, I have a m&p 9mm and I can only imagine that the m&p 15 also has great reliability.

I bought a Stag 3G.
18" stainless fluted barrel, 15" Sampson Handguard, HP/MPI tested full auto BCG all for under 2K.
There are other nice Stag models to choose from.
There is a model 3R in stock with a 16" barrel HP/MPI Tested barrel and bolt for under $1300 in stock at Arms East.

Daniel Defense make nice rifles also.
