Had my references call in, huge time saver. It's going to be a long hall my friend, good things come to those who wait. I think it was about 4 months for me(Ontario).

If you had taken a moment to read the whole application, it's all indicated there, it costs $80.
If you still have question call RCMP. Posting this type of questions in a public forum where the information (as I type this) is old, is a waste of everybody's time.

I got a cheque for $40 from RCMP last week , yes, they sent me money back. Who knew. I had paid $80 Feb 2013, if it's free, you will get the money back eventually. Is it free now? I do not think so, but realistically, I don't know.
Calling RCMP, is your best bet.

My 2 cents.

Well you can do what I did and not send them money, wait for weeks, get a letter from them saying I owe them $80 still, send the money, wait a few more weeks....

So just pay the $80 is what I'm saying.

Posting a question in a public forum a waste of our time ?...really wow what is the point of a community of knowledge sport experienced people if not to help each other ,some peoples positions just baffle me and do nothing for the cgn community idea of we are all here to help those following in our footsteps
in short lighten up folks if ya don't like what ya read by halfway through carry on ,your wasted 5 seconds are not a reason to make someone sorry they asked a question..ok i feel better
Apologies to anyone who wasted 5 seconds ....not really

that is not my point man. lol now I have to explain, the point being, here you won't find REAL information because whatever you read here might change tomorrow or might be untrue or not correct, hence, calling RCMP is what you have to do: they set the rules, not us. Why guessing? Why follow some random internet advice?

It's is not about fixing a gun or finding a part. In that case, a forum is great, unfortunately, in this case, that does not apply and the internet advice could lead to more confusion.
That is all dude.

It's $40 although you will never see it in writing anywhere. I called to ask a question and the lady on the phone told me to only put $40. This was 3 months ago and both me and my bro received our rpal with no issue.

that explains why I got $40 in the mail.
As you said, this is not stated anywhere in the application, they actually say $80.

They are probably too lazy to change their apps.

haha.
Hey the info was there, truth is, you still gotta call them since you don't know how much they are charging TODAY.
I got money back from an application of FEB 2013 (read my post). In a few days we are in 2014, new year, perhaps NEW FEES.

As you can see, this information might be old THEN.

Is that too hard to understand? or do you want to discuss this while we drink a cup of tea?

Wow we both learned something didn't we buddy.......
