upgrading my cz 455 supermatch

I've been thinking about cutting the screw and magwell attachment back about 1/16" or so so that the bedding pillar has a much better place to set... Still thinking about it as it goes against my German nature to do something like that.... lol If I decide to so that, I'll have to make 2 new front pillars for a better bed.
 
It's a 455. I've got a access to a mill and lathe so I guess I should just make my own.

I was considering making the front pillar match the curve of the action just to get it as secure as possible, or perhaps making it a vee shape.

I might have to change plans on the pillar bedding as this is what the SST looks like installed... :(

Might need to use SS tubing... So sad.... :(
 
Mill a vertical slot with a key way cutter in the rear one and line it up as you did with the front notched pillar.You are working with less than 30 ins. lbs torque.Once it is epoxied in it will serve you well.
