upgrading the charging handle

again +1 for the Raptor.

I run a Raptor in my SR-556 and 11.5" frankengun. Butter smooth (tested in a PSA AR too) and the ambi features are great. The latches are oversized perfectly....not so big that they get in the way and snag on things but large enough for you to manipulate it with your palm or even your wrists and forearms. It's an essential upgrade to make your AR capable of performing to its potential.

Raptor... It's THE BEST CH out there. I have it in both my modern ARs... I've kept my SP1 bone stock.

I tried many different CH, and found the Raptor fastest and easiest to use.

Well I use the BCM Gunfighter in both my AR's and as far as I'm concerned it should be the stock charging handle. Any AR I get from here on out I will just order a BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 medium latch with it. Super smooth and easy to use, being a righty I don't see the necessity in spending another 40 bucks or so for an ambi feature I don't need. Just something to think about.

OK, I caved and got the RAPTOR handle. Wow what a difference! From now on, this is the one I will be using.

It looks great, it`s smooth like butter, and it is so much easier to grip compared to the original one.

I've tried the Raptor and found no difference in feel from my BCM Mod4 as far as charging using only my index finger.

I tried the Badger a Ordnance Tac Latch and it isn't smooth and puts a lot of lateral force on the charging handle.
I actually managed to snap a roll pin on one.

I was just gonna add a +1 for breaking a roll pin!

The Badger latch is OK for a relatively cheap and quick upgrade, but in my opinion, you're just "down-grading" the charging handle. As soon as you install the larger Badger latch, up goes the stress on that roll pin. The latch does allow you to be more aggressive with the handle, but it beats the crap out if the roll pin that holds everything together. It happened to me with the very same latch.

Since then I've used the Raptor and have never looked back. You can be as rough as you want with it and it performs perfectly. It has a beefy price tag, but it's worth it.

Had my Raptor since it first came out and I love it as well. Looks like Mega Arms has a new ambi charging handle that just came out called the "Slide Lock" that looks interesting because its simplicity is supposed to mean a much lower price point.

Same thing here.

Just received my raptor from One Shot Tactical today, super fast shipping and a great handle !

Anyone have any experience with the "PRi gasbuster" charging handle?

I have an M84 Gasbuster- Military Big Latch CH on my M4A1 clone. We will never get the full benefit of this cocking handle because we are not able to own a suppressor. It is not as easy to manipulate as a larger handle but it is less likely to get hung up on a chest rig or clothing when slung where larger handles might. I won't be changing it in the foreseeable future.
