Upgrading to Restricted in PEI

I just got my Pal in March and started shooting in July but I have a problem.. PEI shooters are too generous and like other people to try their guns and idiots like me trade off shots with their rifles.

Long story short I'm looking at getting a pistol so I will take the course and resend my paper work. After the course and test what am I looking at for timing? I figure I got all winter to do this as I don't have accss to an indoor range.

Possible hand guns

22/22 mag single action revolver, cz75 p1, cheap norninco 45 or a sig. I might even get a 357 mag single action to go with my Rossi 1892.
 
Can'y help much with the selection but hurry up and get going on that RPAL. It will take the CFC and your CFO that time just to get your card too you. Then they get to stick it to you again with the ATT.
Got mine last summer. No card until late fall. Then have to own a restricted to get the ATT. (more wait time) then the club course....

Long story short I can finally just now take a handgun to the range 1 whole F&*$ing year later.
 
Just a little Norc 9mm Tokarev. Fit the budget for a beginner pistol and after handling the other pistols (mostly 1911's and woodsman clones) at our ranges ATT course i dicoverd my "mit-like" hands don't wrap aroud a double stack mag so well. I just found the 1911's too awkward. You might find different.

But thats all i have experienced so far. There are far more experienced shooters on here that should be able to point you in the right direction.

The best thing to do is to go to your local shop and try a few out. Or better yet an open house at the closest range. Only you can decide what is best for you.

i just did not want to see you pass up on a course now for one later and then miss out on the sunny days ahead.
 
Just a quick note on ATT times here. I bought a membership at the bhig boot range the other day and then drove directly to the CFC office (approx. 20 min.) and and I had my long term ATT within 5 minutes of getting there.
 
thanks I'm a member as well. IF you see a big guy talking to himself while shooting a 1892 lever action it is me :) I spoke to Vivian once she seems like she has a good head on her shoulders.
