Upland hunting in Ontario and Quebec: 3 shells/rounds max regulations?

I had one of those Remington green plugs in my 870 last year for grouse hunting .... and it drove me nuts ...
Every time I changed the carrying position of the gun that plug would slide up or down the mag tube .... click ... click ... click ... click.

Imagine a quite foggy fall morning .... not a sound around .... and your gun goes click, click, click ..... :bangHead:

Yeah I turfed the green plastic Rem plug as well, I’ve made my plugs from a piece of fibreglass collapsible tent pole or the last one was from a fibreglass or carbon fibre arrow shaft. I had to make a longer one after I added the +2 extension to my express.

Once it’s cut to length I screw a washer or coin big enough to fit into the mag tube, you insert the spring, then the plug and screw on the mag cap. It’s held in place between the end of the spring and the cap and it is centered in the tube. It won’t rattle around either and is feather light.

One will be hard pressed to get a triple header of Grouse unless of course it is the Famous Grouse Scotch Whiskey.
In that case I suggest a good Cuban cigar and lots of ice with a crystal whiskey glass.

I came across 6 grouse at once last Sunday. Unfortunately, I was carrying an O/U.
