Gentlemen I have been reading alot lately and would like to pick up a new rifle. RRA is what I have chosen 16" A4. Now my question is this, I don't have a lot of cash at this time, but can afford a Lower. Should I wait until I have enough cash for the whole rifle or order the Lower and get the upper when I get my overtime cheque? Does it really matter? I was going through the threads and noticed that a lot of rifles are of mixed manufactures.

What you get first doesn't really matter, I'd probably get a lower on my ticket first, but either is equally 'useless' without the other half.

The only thing I'd offer up when ordering a rifle bit by bit, is keep an eye on the shipping.

I believe people have ordered parts from us week by week who would have been better off financially by saving their money for a month or two and getting all the parts in one shipment.

I was wondering that when I started this thread, but the canadian post office shipping tool was not working when I checked. what is the average cost of shipping a rifle to Alberta?

Sorry should have added some more info, I just got up from a snooze. I have received a garand from a guy in manitoba and it cost around 70 bucks. It cant cost that much for a lower or upper. You ship all over the country can you give me a ball park number for shipping?

Thanks for all your help guys!! I really appreciate it.
I had the money all saved up and then......... a Break down and bye bye money. Had the wife all convinced it was a good idea and so on and then mr. Murphy has to step in. :(
Back to step one do not collect 200 dollars!

Get the lower first if you're gonna build the rifle over time. The lower is the actual "firearm" that gets registered, so you might as well get that out of the way first so you don't have to deal with the CFC again afterwards.
