Upper/Lower Wiggle How much?

the AR wedge didnt do anything when one of mine wiggled. it really depends on how much there is

not sure how it can cause uneven wear unless the wedge is uneven and makes the upper twist slightly

either way, only a bandaid solution, not going for the root of the problem

you can change the take down pins for slightly larger ones (might have to try a few....)

the wiggle doesnt affect function, but it can get annoying for sure

Thanks for the tip , it is annoying in a sense but once I start feeding it ammo I forget all about it. And its a breaze to take down :)

Also to reinforce, the wiggle will only bother you not the gun.

So if you aren't really all that bothered by it while shooting then there is nothing to fix.

The "problem" is the fit tolerances for the pin holes. You are matching six holes from possibly two different machine shops, the alternative to getting the wiggle is that the holes don't line up and you can't assemble the rifle.

Thats the conclusion I have come to Thanks

Upper-lower receiver fit is a non-issue unless grossly excessive (the pivot pin lugs should not allow a .020" feeler gauge to fit all the way to the pin). The upper may move around on the lower, but the optic (or sights) maintain the same relationship to the barrel.

Besides not accomplishing anything of value, the Accu-Wedge can break down over time and tie up the gun.

Depends on the shooting you're doing.
A tight upper and lower does lead to a more consistent recoil path, important in shooting a gas gun accurately.
This is precision shooting I'm talking about...if it's not an inherently sub moa gun, you might not notice.
Jp makes an expanding take down pin.
Or most smiths experienced with the ar know how to bed the upper and lower.

For regular everyday use the wiggle has no effect on accuracy. If you are benchrest shooting or perhaps blasting varmints at extreme distances, it may have an extremely small effect. Most likely not enough to notice.
