Upper's from Brownells

Can we order a stripped upper from Brownells, as long as its under $100? or is it considered a significant part and forbidden.

I tried to order a YHM upper for under $100 last year. Recieved a reply saying they couldnt export it.

FWIW - I ordered a JP Enterprise captured recoil spring last week and the limit has indeed been bumped to $500 as it was over $100, but less than $500, meaning that the only paperwork I had to submit was the End-User Certificate. Took 5 mins to do so and my item shipped the next day.

Look up the Brownell's tutorial in the Legalese section - it's all outlined. Great job by the member NZA.

Though I thought the limit increased to $500....the past two orders from brownells I was required to complete an end user cert for the one order which was over $100, but not for the one under $100.

Gas rings for an AR bolt they would not export. Some items don't seemed to be kosher even though these products are already sold in Canada. Their website is pretty good at identifying which items are restricted. The DD upper receiver on their website doesn't seem to be, but because receivers are specifically mentioned below....I'm not sure

Maybe because the manufacturer who made them is registered...
Perhaps whatever Onagoth ordered was manufactured by a firm not registered with DOS or whoever...

I ordered a spikes lower a couple of years ago. All that was needed was the export ppwk to be filled out.

Call and speak to sandy, she's very helpful.

i just ordered a DPMS high ride upper receiver. No problem. Just had to fill in the paperwork and get the import permit. Should be here in February for my birthday. I can then start my 204 Ruger build.

Just received my shipping notice from Brownells today for the upper receiver. Just over 3 weeks from mailing the forms to approval and shipping of the item. That is easily the fastest I've ever had something get approved and shipped to me through Brownells ever. It's typically been more like 8-10 weeks. Now I need to get my hands on a BCG and a barrel and I'll be shooting the 204 in a few months.
