Uppers & Lowers. (AR15)

What would you guys recommend?

I am looking right now at a Stag 1H (16") upper and a Tactical Innovations TI-T15 lower. I am going to assemble the lower by hand with a parts kit. Probably a RRA parts kit as I would order both from questar at the same time. The Stag upper would be from armseast.

I see I can get a Dlask 701 upper for about the same amount of money, is there an advantage for me spending an extra 60$ for the TI upper vs say a bushmaster? I have to admit my motivation for the TI lower is the nice bare look on the lower, some of the other features look nice, but I am not experienced enough to know if they are just hype and make no difference.

The rifle will be pretty close to a stock M4 just with Pmags and a Magpul CTR stock. Not looking at optics or any rail mounting handguards.

Opinions? This will be my first rifle.

I guess the end it boils down to the brand you like and availability. Most of the dealers are out of stock or have limited availability. I sourced most of my AR parts from Questar. The RRA upper @ $870 is a great value, i dont think any other dealer is close to that price.

As for lowers, i think only two options are TI @ $289 or Bushmaster lower @ $229 (Target Sports Center).

AFAIK the RRA upper has no detachable carry.

Lowers: Dlask has theirs in stock too, as does AE have stags fully assembled with parts.

dangertree, this may seem like a poseur question but have you ever compared the coloration of a TI lower and a Stag upper? Or has anyone? Slightly off wouldn't bother me, but gray and black would be hard to stomach for what will essentially be a safe queen.
 
What does the LPK mean as in Lower with LPK installed?

I looked at the AE list of available parts and neither of the stripped lowers is available. I'd also like one for the $219 just to get it into my name since funds are tight.
