UPS pickup service?

I hate UPS and avoid it like the plague. Everytime I pick something up from UPS there is an extra charge of some sort. A few stories of lost guns in the mail. Also was told by one of there employees that they dont insure guns, but there employees are idiots.

A few sponsors on here use UPS for shipping to certain area's.I have received some firearm related items shipped to me by UPS.I found it easier to simply pick up any package at their nearest depot then try to arrange home delivery..

I have only used UPS once to get a product shipped from the USA to me in BC. The extra money involved for 'handling' is ridiculous. I always insist on "USPS" (United States Postal Service) shipping from the States. If a company deals exclusively with UPS for shipping, I move to another vendor who will ship USPS.

I agree on all points made in this thread. I buy from SFRC, they use UPS for ammo. UPS only delivers to my home when I'm at work (work afternoons). My house must be at the end of their route... I just put a notice on the door for me to pick it up at the depot. I've missed enough packages, so I just pick it up.

Only time I use UPS from the USA is when I get free shipping to Detroit, MI, then go pick the packages up. I saved about $200 in shipping, brokerage fees and taxes last time I bought items for my Jeep this way. Declared the items and was let go my customs. No taxes!!!

If you have to us UPS to ship from the US there is a trick to avoiding the brokerage fees. Have it shipped expedited. It usually only a small amount more but they cover the fees.
