Upside Down Primers

I'm disappointed that after almost 3,000 posts I get caught asking a "should be a sticky" question...oh well. Success! I now have 4 primers & 4 brass to re-use! I must have saved myself $.40!

:runaway: Hey mods, can we have a sticky on "removing upside down or live primers"? It seems like the question comes up every 4 weeks or so.:runaway:

ah pushing out live primers, I can just see the disclaimer :)

I've done it myself a few times, upside down and the properly seated ones, even some primers with military crimps and have not had a problem, just go slow and steady. Safety gear as required.

I've also put a shell or 2 in the vise and wacked the primer with a punch and hammer, surprising how hard you have to hit them to make them go off

saving .40$ is the main thing, that and learning something new. Please don't take my request as a insult, it wasn't ment to be (and you went and did it, didn't spend 2 weeks going 'gee I don't know, is it safe..... ) I just posted because it does come up fairly regular, and it might save time/effort for all involved.
